At Niles, we currently have 125,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space under renovation. To best serve our customers, our manufacturing facilities will feature thirteen expand work centers, two flattening work centers, five shears, eight leveling work centers, and two cut-to-length lines. We are proud to be ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Certified. We manufacture the most complete line of expanded materials in both coil and sheet manufacturing from foils through 0.315” plate. We offer a comprehensive stock inventory of aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel 304 & 316. A full selection of finishing options including painting, powder coating, E-coating, and hot dip galvanizing allow us to meet a variety of customer needs.
Our equipment produces mesh sheets from the most complete selection of ductile material including aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cupro-nickel, weathering steel, nickel alloys, plastics, polymers, stainless steels, zinc, and more in your choice of patterns including diamond, hexagonal, round, square, and decorative patterns.
Our Equipment
Our sheet-fed expand work centers are designed to manufacture expanded mesh products. They include an 8-foot-wide, 250-ton work center for aluminum and light gauge products. We operate three 10-foot-wide work centers (250T, 280T, and 500T), with the 280T center being sheet-fed and the others handling both coil and sheet. For larger sheets, we run two 12-foot-wide, sheet-fed work centers rated at 350T and 600T. These lines support our industrial and security mesh products. Additionally, we have coil-fed work centers, including a 16” and a 36” expander in the aerospace division, along with 500mm, 620mm, 54”, and two 1250mm expanders in our precision division.
The process of leveling expanded mesh creates a flat sheet with minimal wave or buckle. Each of our expanding work centers is equipped with leveling work centers.
Material handling tow motors are used to transfer heavy weight materials short distances. We currently have seven tow motors including two 3,000# capacity tow motors, four 12,000# capacity tow motors, and one 30,000# capacity tow motor.
Shearing is the process of cutting a sheet of expanded mesh to specific requirements. Our industrial products group is equipped with two 12-foot, and our precision products group is equipped with one 4-foot shear.
Overhead cranes are used for coil handling and general material and equipment requirements. We currently have three overhead cranes including one 10T, and two 15T.
Flattened expanded mesh is produced by feeding the sheet of standard material through a cold roll reducing mill, creating a uniform smooth and flat 2-dimensional surface. We have one 72” wide flattener and one 60” wide flattener, with plans to add more capacity in the near future.
Cut to Length lines are used to cut the raw material coils for sheet/plate stock and custom lengths. We currently have one 72” x .250”, 15-ton coil capacity line.
